Avantone Pro ADM v2
Cardioid Dynamic Microphone
The current Avantone ADM is a second-generation microphone designed primarily for use on snare drums. The new mic’s narrower body is designed to fit into the company’s elastic shockmount, which provides additional isolation from mechanical noise as compared to the original ADM’s integrated hard mount.
Two grooves cut into the new ADM body allow the shockmount bands to grip the mic with no risk of slippage. This is a useful feature for this mic’s intended application; were the mic able to slide out of the shockmount due to vibrations from the drum, the mic would soon be resting with its capsule on the drum head. These machined grooves serve as a simple but effective locking mechanism.
The ADM body is made of die cast zinc, with a grille made of brass and steel, with nickel-plated accents.
The ADM ships with the Avantone SSM elastic shockmount and the PK-1 Pro-Klamp rim mount, in a padded plastic carrying case.
