Myburgh Microphones
Myburgh Microphones is a German manufacturer founded by engineer and producer, Andrew Myburgh. Originally named Burg Microphones, the Berlin-based company introduced its flagship M1 at Musikmesse in 2018.
The goal of the company was not to imitate or recreate classic German and Austrian models, but rather to use the legacy of German mic manufacturing to build a new high-end product with an extremely linear response and modern, low noise specs with greater versatility than vintage models.
Andrew Myburgh originally partnered with noted mic tech and U47 expert, Andreas Grosser, for the Burg M1. In 2020, the company announced its name change to Myburgh with the introduction of an all-new version of the M1, featuring a new circuit design by Grosser and new partner, Eckehart Dux.
Microphones are hand-built in Berlin using German-made capsules and Pikatron transformers.
