Shinybox
ShinyBox is a one-man custom microphone shop. Proprietor Jon Ulrigg hand-builds ribbon microphones using parts sourced from around the world.
His ShinyBox 46 is a passive large-geometry ribbon that has been in a state of constant improvement, with new materials, components, and techniques being incorporated following extensive ongoing research and development.
Ulrigg currently offers three flavors of the mic: with a custom-wound transformer, a Cinemag transformer, or a Lundahl transformer.
